Note on Linearization: If you use annotations or rectangles, etc., to cover up the watermarks, then you are just adding the annotation layer, and anyone with a PDF editor can move the rectangles out of the way, on purpose or accidentally. It is online, but isn't a scam (except, you know, Google). Google Docs can supposedly be used to remove watermarks. It is a more manual process, but does not create/cause its own watermarks, and works on 'stubborn stains'. If the watermarks cover the text, I have had decent success with LibreOffice Draw, and simply removing the objects by clicking on them and. The amounts are by percentages of the page, so this may take some trial and error, but Control-Z (Undo) works well. 2) right-click and choose split pages, and make vertical or horizontal splits to cut the pages accordingly. Here is how I do it with PDF Arrangerġ) Open the file in PDF arranger and select the page(s) that need to have the watermarks cropped out. The idea is to do a cropping of the page(s). Briss also works, and I used it a lot, but prefer PDF Arranger. My favourite tool for snipping margins is PDF Arranger. Again, you will want to linearlize the document. To cover them up, I change the rectangle tool properties to change the border to 0 pt (a zero-width line) and opacity to 100%. If the watermarks, then, cover whitespace (such as along the top or the bottom), then you can either cover them up and "linearize the annotations" (not just linearize the PDF there is a difference), or you can snip the margins that contain the watermark. If the watermarks are on the base layer this will not work. You lose the ability to click on url links, but if you don't need that then there is no big problem. In PDF-XChange Editor, in the Print Menu, under Advanced Print Options, use the Dropdown Menu and Choose Document (not markups or stamps) If you no longer see the watermarks in the preview, then the watermarks are on a separate layer, and I simply Print to PDF. Here are a few of my thoughts on how to do it, and the tools I use (all freeware or opensource, and I prefer portable applications I do not use online apps). It depends on how the watermarks are put on. → Check out the FAQ to see if your question has already been answered.
